Fabriano Watercolor Paper

September 21, 2014 by bobflo Leave a Comment

Types of watercolor papers and manufacturers are many.  I like to use 140 pound hot press Fabriano watercolor paper.  It’s 100% cotton and acid free.

Because I paint in a photo realistic style, I want to use a very smooth paper that will not buckle or lift up away from the drawing board!  After soaking it in warm water for a few minutes, I staple my paper down on all four sides.  When the paper dries, it is nice and tight and ready to receive lots of applications of watercolor paints.
